Mark Bortz, owner of Premier Companies, recently attended the Plumbers Success International Expo in Las Vegas in March 2011. Mark had a conversation with Brenda Casey of Casey’s Plumbing in Portland, Oregon. Brenda has been a client of Premier Companies since 2005. Brenda told Mark “I have sold 6 Diamond Club Memberships this year from questions that were asked when customers heard about it on hold.”

Thank you Brenda for demonstrating that HOLD PLUS message on hold can be an effective up-sell tool. It’s good to hear that you are successfully using HOLD PLUS to sell maintenance programs to your plumbing customers.

Nothing promotes the value of a business better than a personal testimony. That’s why when Premier Companies owner, Mark Bortz, had a conversation with his mother, we thought we’d listen in on what was said!

“Thought I’d share a funny story with you… My mother justmoved from Michigan to Tennessee last month. At dinner last night we were ‘talking business.’ She was explaining her recent experience with cataract surgery. She then said, “When I call the surgery place and they place me on hold, they have music and a message… just like what you do.” (she’s always trying to find business opportunities for me)

So she said, ” You should call them and sell them your HOLD PLUS service… although you need to know, what I heard was REAL good.” This morning she called me with the number to her surgery center. Guess who it is? TLC EyeCare, a current HOLD PLUS client of ours! So, obviously I’m not going to call to sell them our service… but I did think it was interesting that she specifically said… “what I heard was REAL good!”

Premier is helping Hands On Nashville

Premier Companies Inc., is dedicated to supporting our community and helping those in need after the recent flood. We have committed to send several of our employees each day to help with the flood relief efforts. Hands On Nashville has taken a lead in this effort and we are happy to be able to stand along side hundreds of others in helping our neighbors in need.

We encourage all local businesses to send employees to help. And we thank and commend those who are already engaged.

20 years ago I was making a sales presentation for our HOLD PLUS product to the owner of a local auto dealership. He asked how I could prove that the service worked. He stated that he didn’t want to pay for a service that no one was going to listen to.

I replied by stating “I’ll install a system for you at no cost, with no obligation to buy. I’ll write a script, produce a HOLD PLUS program and load it to the system. Now I want to be clear that your script is going to say… buy one Toyota Camry and get a second Camry free.”

Once I said this, the owner began to chuckle and said, no we can’t do that.

I asked, “What are you afraid of, do you think someone is going to listen to it?

I rest my case.”
